6X47 Lapua/Rl-17/95gr Berger

I tried some 95gr Bergers and Rl-17 in my 1-10.5" twist to see if they would stabilize. Well so far so good. Shot them out to 500yards today with good accuracy and all holes were round. i will be cronographing on the weekend. I ended up using 40.7gr of RL-17. I shot some rounds loaded up to 41.6gr but was getting slight ejector pin marks.

I haven't tried the Berger's yet but have shot 85 grain Speer's and 105 gr Speer's in my 1:10 twist with 42.0 and 40.0 grains of Re17 respectfully. The 40 grain load with the 105's is just starting to show pressure signs. I have no idea what velocity I am getting. H4350 is giving me just slightly better groups at 200 yards. I have a box of Berger 95's so will be interested in seeing what your tests show with Re17. Keep us posted. Tom

What "freebore" and lead angle are you using for 95gr. Bergers?

I am shooting a 6x47L with 90 gr Bergers. Reamer is PTG, .270nk with .090" freebore.
4" groups @600yds with 39.6gr 4350, fed 205M primer.That is a mild load with a bit of verticle, that hopefully will tighten up as I increase the powder.

My 28" 8tw Bartlein 6x47 is a .269 nk QL data sHOWS 40.0gr/H4350 - Berger 88 FB Varmant/Match = 50,215psi @ 3236fps. Shot just under a 2" 10 shot group @ 500yds with under 1.6 vertical. Plenty of room to increase load buy why mess with it if it ain't broken. My rifle didn't shot the RL17 nearly that well.

My 10 twist 26" pac-nor runs 90 gr speer Hot core's around 3275fps with 36.5gr IMR4064.Shoots mid 2's @100 and around a 1/4 moa @ 400yds.Pretty good deer medecine for short to emdium range.
