6x47 Lapua or the 6mm creed

Starline, Peterson and Alpha make 6 creed brass, not to mention excellent Hornady brass, so.......unless you want srp.

I was debating on 22x47 or 22 Creedmoor, and decided on creedmoor for just a little more capacity to achieve the hot-rod velocity I am hoping for. I think, capacity is supposed to be about 2 grains difference between these two cartridges (not sure).

Then I encountered post where someone purchased Alpha and Peterson 22CM brass and found the capacity to be notably less. So now I'm trying to get to the bottom of the capacity differences at play here, in 6CM or 22CM brass.

In the end, I suppose I just made sure the reamer I have made will handle the thickest necks, and then I could try 22CM Aplha va 6CM Lapua necked down...and see.

I just shot a jump ladder today for my RPR 6CM using 3-F Peterson brass and the water capacity average for 5 fired (untumbled) cases was 51.45 grains. I doubt much additional capacity would be gained after dry tumbling, maybe .05 grain. I would imagine the capacity for the 22CM neck would drop that to ~51 grains.
FWIW, best 3-shot, 100yd group using Hornady 108 ELD-M's was .375 at .005 jam over 32.5 grains AR-Comp @2785fps AVG & 9.8 SD. Not even close to a full bore charge, then again, I was just interested in jump. Brass looked like it could handle up to about 35 grains.

Good Luck with the 22CM

No Competition Match calibers were harmed in this post. ;)
