6x47 Lapua loads

I should be getting my rifle in the next few weeks. It'll be chambered in 6x47 lapua with a BAT action and 28" kreiger barrel with 1:8 twist. I have read through the forum several timse, and notice a lot of old dates on the posts. Just curious if there is anyone out there with some newer info on load developent. My builder strongly suggested berger 108 VLD but no suggestions on powder. I did pick up some reloder 17 to try, and have some varget and h4831, all 3 I've seen being used on this forum. Just looking for some info/opinions on where I could start at. I don't get to see my builder too often since he's about an hour and a half from me and has limited hours, mixed with my work schedule.

Figures he'd call that yesterday afternoon and we talked. But he suggested rl17 and h4350, which i forget to mention i have. Still would like to hear some input from you guys as well, any advice is appreciated. Thanks

My wife and I both shoot 6X47 Lapua's. I would strongly suggest the 105 VLD. Specifically the 105 Hunting VLD for target purposes.
CCI 450 small rifle magnum primers with 39 grains of H4350. This is assuming you don't have a tight bore barrel. If a tight bore I would suggest CCI BR primers and 38.7 grains of H4350. Start off touch the lands and work in 2/1000s at a time.
You will find the sweeet spot around 10 most likely.

With all things being normal, you should be doing just shy of 3100 fps and it becomes very dasher-like when you find the proper length.

I use 39.5g RL-17, Fed 205M, 105g VLD, in my 6X47. I shoot both the standard 6X47L and the 6X47L 40degree. The 40 degree in my opinion does it all with great velocity, and tiny groups! I use RE-17 in both.

H4350, 105 grain VLD, just into the lands, CCI 450 primer. That's where it's at with my 6x47L.

No such thing as a 108 VLD. I use the 108 BT over 39g H4350.

My gun prefers the 108BT over the 105 VLD. I have a couple thousand 105 Hybrids sitting on the shelf waiting to be tested.

Cool, thanks for all the feedback. Sounds like I picked right on powder. Might grab a box of 105 to try and 4xforfun you're right, I wasn't thinking when I typed it out. I do have a box of 107 sierras to try but no one mentioned them so maybe they'll get tried last if at all. Also I have a box of 1000 cci 450s to use. He said about a month or so yet til it's ready so I still have time to read up and get prepared.
