6x45

What are the thoughts on taking a 223 die set and running the roughing reamer to make a set of 6x45 dies? bored at work and just thinkin' cheap! Later,

Kirk

Re-size dies are hardened - good luck with that.

In addition you would need a re-size die reamer anyway, not a chamber reamer.

Kinda what I was thinking but hey if you don't ask you'll never know. I found redding 6x45 dies for $77 so might just go that way. Later,

When I've cut on dies i've found that they are hardened. I used carbide to mostly shorten them. I think you would ruin the reamer. I did take a FL die and lapped it out to a neck sizer one time, cut the neck off the case and loaded with compound and went to work.
