I actually had a guest mistakenly load a 300BO round into one of my rifles and blow it up. Changed my thought process a bit. If you had a handful of 223 and then dropped a 6x45 (similar bullet) then you would still need to look to find it. I wanted to minimize risk that one of my kids would make a easy mistake. They are extremely close in all dimensions… 0.02” difference in bullet diameter is easily overlooked.I can see where that would be a problem. I have heard of folks chambering a blackout round in a 223 and causing a problem.
I went with a different case so that easily distinguishable. The 6TCU is basically a 6x45AI which gives it a little more powder capacity plus the added benefit of the case being a little shorter provides extra space for longer bullets to more easily fit in magazine.
6x45 in any flavor is good stuff
