Has anyone tried the 95 grain Sierra Match kings in the 6x45? I just started a new build that should be done next week. .480 BC above 2750 and I'm hoping to get bout that out of a 26" tube. It looks like a nice bullet to play in 500-800 yard range with the 6x45.

I used noslers 95g HBT in my 6x45 with h335 at 2586 fps in a 24" tube and that's not max.
Yea its not the same bullet, but Im not sure if anyone runs heavies as a standard in their 6x45. I just used it for antelope until I went lighter a bit.
I have run it to 700 yards and my best was 5.5" running 5 fast shots.
I have since dropped to the 87vmax at .400 BC for hunting/ punching paper though.

I finished up the rifle last week. 26" 1-8" Bartlein 5R throated so the start of the boat tail is right at the bottom of the neck. Way too long to fit in a standard 223 mag, but that's no problem to deal with on a 700. Got the barrel broke in today and did some testing to see what kind of speed it would do. 95 grain Sierra Match King's with CFE 223. The primers were just starting to show a little pressure at 2902, bolt lift was still fine. I can't wait too shoot some groups and do some real load development.

Thanks for following up!

Just getting my PT&G bolt back, had a Gre-Tan .062" pin fitted for my 6x45AI build. Hope to have it finished off in a month or so, also using a 1:8tw Bartlein. I'd be pretty happy with the speed you're getting, keep us posted on how it continues to shake out!!!
