6PPC Questions--Me again

Life kind of got in the way of my 6PPC journey last fall, but I'm ready to get back at it. I want to thank all the folks that have helped me and I've got a couple of more questions.
1. I've fired all the new brass that DJ formed for me with rather light loads (26.4 to 26.8 Gr. N133 and Barts 68 Dominators) and found a seating depth that seems to be working well. I'm just making land marks on a smoked bullet. Do you think this seating depth will hold up as I go up a bit in powder charge?

2. I've watched all of the Jack Neary videos on You Tube that I could find. Some of the charges of N133 he suggests seem downright scary (but hard to argue with the results). I'm not sure I could get in that much powder? So my question is how much N133 can I go and get say 10 firings on the primer pockets? Yes I want to shoot small, but no I can't afford to throw away brass after 3 firings.

Thanks in advance for your help. PM if you prefer.

Jack seems to have all his junk in one piece but some of his info sounds scary for sure.

I use 29.1 of n133 till I see the environmental change then I have moved up to 29.5
I have yet to go over 30.0 grains plus but that is subject to change...
Thanks much for the info. Could I ask how many firings your primer pockets hold up?

After 20 years of 6PPC I am currently shooting 29.5 of vv133 the lightest I have ever shot. I usually am closer too 30.0. You must work up a tenth at a time in this range. I have used both a long drop tube and the vibration method. A long drop tube used slowly works best for me. Most of my barrels have been 29.7 to 29 .9.Bullets from 63 to 68 gr.

Are you looking to compete with a 10.5 lb. gun? If weight is not a concern, I would suggest getting a tuner for your barrel ( I prefer Ezell tuners ) don't get me wrong, you can make the 10.5 with a tuner, you just have to plan for it with barrel selection. It will give you a different set of decisions in regards to loading or not at the range to compensate for atmospheric conditions. If you are jamming your bullet a bit during load development, I think it is a good thing. Pressure will show up quicker and I will bet that what ever load you end up with it will shoot better in the lands when all is said and done.......Good Luck........Have Fun....

Regards
Rick

I USE forester bonaza blue ribbon long funnel.
as is its good
but the tube.funnel are threaded
you can buy 5/16 od tubing on line and make up to a 12" drop
i make a neck specific delrin case adapter for the outlet..press fit or threaded

A few thoughts.
If you want to shoot the load range Neary speaks to, you need a few things.

You need an action that will handle the pressure. Just because you have a BAT, Borden,,,,, doesn’t mean you’re good to go. Many/most of them still need some love.

You need an FL die that sizes relative to YOUR chamber to the correct dimensions. For that, I strongly suggest you get a die made by or polished/pinched by someone that has a history of making those successfully for people shooting high end PPC pressures. In general almost nothing at the shoulder, and a good bit, 8/10ths+ at 200. Big name on internet does not = what ppl like Neary use.

Jack has great videos, but I suggest keeping it in context. He is at the Nationals or big shoots like the East West when filming. That does mean the audience is smarter/superior, just pretty far down the BR rabbit hole.

I concur with Dusty. Sometimes 28.6 of N133 will really hammer. Most times 29.2, 29.5, 29.7 or 29.9 is the ticket in my guns. These are BR rifles with custom actions. Loads were worked up properly. Don't blindly go there. Due diligence is required on your part.

As far as the cases holding up, I've had zero issues with Lapua brass. Getting ten firings is pretty normal with a good fitting die that is close to your chamber.
