Personally, I would advise going with the PPC. Unless you have a lot of experience with SRBR, it's tough being on your own island with something that virtually no one else is shooting. I see 4 problems with the ARC. First, it's going to require a reamer with a much shorter freebore than the the ARC is made with in order to shoot the 65-68gr bullets we use. Second, while N133 will probably still be the powder of choice, you will have to add powder jst to get back up to the same pressures since the case volume is higher. 6ARC brass has the larger flash hole, and the way around that is to use Lapua 220 Russian or 6PPC Alpha brass. That extra powder will also have more recoil and twist in the bags, which can cause gun handling problems. Lastly, your going to have a heck of a time getting a sizing die that works once you get it up to meaningful, competitive pressures.

Not to say it can't be done, or that it hasn't been. It will take a new reamer and a lot of work. SRBR is hard enough to get a handle on in the beginning. It will be really tough starting off with a whole different cartridge.

I have a different animal, 22ARC. My Alpha brass has same flash hole as a couple of old 220 Russian cases (.060). Ordered .030 fb reamer for 52 Berger. Shooting low to mid 200 groups now. Have shot several really small groups. No turn necks. Use 32.4 8208 at 3870 fps. Full case and barely compressed with no drop tube.
I say go for it. I've had 6ppc that didn't shoot much better! At my 22arc speeds it shoots great at 200 as well!

Having shot a 6ARC all of last season in 100&200yd club matches we've identified several internet falsehoods.
First, the Alpha brass turned to .262 is great. .020 fb is just the ticket for 64-70gr bullets we've used. Just turn, size and shoot no fire forming required. LE Wilson makes a bushing die that works perfectly for the chamber we're using. Peterson brass works well too, but I haven't shot a lot of it compared to the Alpha.
The larger flashhole was and still is a non issue. Recoil is not noticeably any different than a ppc.

As far as powder goes for the 6ARC..... you're going to do load work up and can decide for yourself but, N133 is a fair place to start.

As far as a recommendation for one over the other... There's a lot more information available to you on the PPC which is a plus. Accuracy wise between the two..... it depends on the usual factors, bullets, barrel, reloading skills, wind reading and bench set up and bench manners. JME. WD

Correction, my bad! Alpha flash hole is slightly larger! In my case doesn't seem to hurt anything! I will also say that N133 shot very well in the 22, but was about 80 fps slower than 8208!
