6ppc and H4895

Are there any good loads for 6ppc and H4895 ? 68 gr bullets.

I have some and would like to try it? Supplies are still hard to find in N.Y.

Thanks Link

Given the speed, your problem will be getting enough in the case. Let me see, a six foot long drop tube, case vibrator, 5.9mm punch and mallet......Just kidding

I think that it would work, but you just would not get the velocity, because of the difference in burn rate. With a long .22 drop tube and a very slow drop, this could probably be minimized. If you want it to be faster, dry it out completely, and then work up carefully.

If I recall, some years back, a shooter was on his way to the Super Shoot, and realized he forgot his powder. He stopped somewhere and bought two pounds of H4895, and won! what I. Don't recall was who it was, but I believe this happened.

I've seen Paul Ryan fill a case up and shake off the excess H4895, seat a 68 Gr. bullet and proceed to clean everyone's clock at Mainville. This was back in the late 80's early 90's. I think the newer H4895 is a tad different.
