Stan what die did you use to neck to 6mm? I always get a slightly irregular neck, but that looked effortless.

Stan,

Thats what I use. I’m thinking I got a bad one. I have tried any and all combinations of lubing and techniques with no luck.

I necked them on down to 22 anyway, and after firing/trimming it made no negative difference in the finished product.

Thanks for the reply

What case's are you making Tod kindler of small caliber news has some form dies that came from rcbs that pulls necks down gradually. I will get his number for you he can at least tell you were he gets them.

Just to make sure I understand correctly, that is 1.370 to the body shoulder junction?
From the very end of case is right at 1.370 from there to neck shoulder junction right at 1.484 then the neck is somewhere around.280 long making a overall length in the neighborhood of 1.765 long

Sorry if this has been covered before. I understand the 6x47 part + 40 degree shoulder. What does cutting the case .100 shorter do (what do you gain from cutting it .100 short vs leaving it) ??

I would assume you only loose. Loose barrel life and holding power for those longer bullets. But i dont know everything and i probably missed something from earlier in the thread.

Gentlemen, hang on and see where Stan takes us. He is an intelligent fellow who loves R&D which is something you will benefit from if his hard work pays off. He is looking for efficiency from a case that has pretty much failed by comparison to the shorter cousins the BR improved versions. Stan shoots 1000 yd IBS and has done well. Tinkering is FUN in these winter months, I am seeing way to often on this site lately, reading posts from the half empty crowd. Some of us are from the half full.

Thanks for your reply time will tell all you hit it on the nose looking for efficiency for the burn rate of different powders H 4350 being a good candidate I will keep all of you posted as I get opportunities to test I am definitely excited about what I am seeing.

Got a picture of it next to a dasher? I am assuming its a bit longer?
Alex here some pics from left to right my 6mmbr Ackley 6mm dasher my 6mmx47 .100 thousands short 40° shoulder 3times fired an a new formed case an a straight 6.5x47 lapua case I think in warm temps H 4350 will shine an varget and Reloader15 will be great in cool temps an great case life look at expansion on case that is fired 3 times sizes very easy thanks for your question on this.

Well I screwed on a new barrel an fired 10 pieces of new brass threw it to get some once fired brass loaded the same charge of H4350 an velocities was slower than the old test barrel about 50 fps to 2980 fps instead of 3040 or so new barrel may be slower but time will tell shot same load of varget as the R 15 same thing speed was a little slow but the accuracy I like what I am seeing examine pics below that is all for now weather permitting will try a little more tomorrow.PS 5shot groups I was shooting 103 vapor trail Sierra jackets
