Guys I have a weird thing going on. I have a krieger barrel that is 1-8 in 6MM. It was originally chambered in a 6XC. I put around 1800rds through it and then had it re chambered to the 6MMSLR.
When I had it re chambered to the 6MMSLR I had my own reamer made by Pacific and he recommended I go with a .104 free bore no turn neck so I did. The rifle shot great and I put another 800 to 1000rds through it. I then pulled it and had a BRX built. I decided to go back to the 6MMSLR for tactical matches and since I had never gotten the barrel very hot it still looked damn good so I had my smith set it back again. This time he used his reamer which has a .075 freebore and is evidently a tighter neck since I had to turn all my necks.
The problem I am having is I seem to be getting pressue signs much earlier in my loads. I used to use 47grs of H1000 and now I get loose primers at 46.5grs. I also can't go past 43.5grs of H4831SC without getting loose primers. I don't get any heavy bolt lift but I do get pitted primers and ejector marks on the brass when fire forming the cases. My smith is shooting 45grs of H4831SC in his rifle.
I wouldn't think much of it if I hadn't shot the other loads in it before. Also according to my chronograph I am getting close to 3060 with the 4831 and around 3080+ with the H1000. (I don't have my exact figures) And its only a 24.5" barrel now. Any ideas?? I am shooting 107MKs now but used to shoot the 105 Lapuas if that helps. Thanks guys!!
