Just purchased a Savage 12 LRPV in 6mmNorma BR. Could use some suggestions as to starting point for reloads @ 100yds. Bullet weight (1 in 8 twist.....26" barrel), powder, etc. Also if there is a preference in die manufacturers....I've always been an RCBS user.

I use 30.0grs. Varget powder CCI 450 primers 105 -108gr. bullets.I use Redding bushing neck die & a Forster benchrest seater. I would start at 29 grs.Varget & work up watching for pressure signs.

Using Lapua brass, Varget powder, Wolf SRM primer, and Lapua 105 BT in my 1:8 twist 28" Pac-Nor at 2.360 OAL, I was getting:

29.4= 2808
29.6= 2838
29.8= 2867
30.0= 2865
30.2= 2893
30.4= 2933

Using Lapua brass, Varget powder, Wolf SRM primer, and Berger 105 VLD in my 1:8 twist 28" Pac-Nor at 2.414 OAL, I was getting:

29.6 = 2850
29.8 = 2860
30.0 = 2970

The best SD and ES was with 29.6 grains of Varget. SD=7 and ES =14 over a 5 shot group.
This is what it has done at 500 yards.

Look at the daily bulletin on July 5 2011 for a pic of the gun and the target.
