Load recomendation for XP-100 7mm br.

I want to load Hornady 120 grain V-Max and Nosler 120 grain Ballistic Tip bullets for my stock Remington XP-100 in 7mm br with a 14.5" barrel. Does anyone have any powder suggestions for a good starting point ? Any advice is appreciated , thank you !

My brother uses IMR-4895 - don't know the recipe but Sierra states 32.4gr is max for 2700fps with 26 inch rifle barrel.

Hogdon lists H4895 MAX 32.7C 2,460fps 49,800 CUP in a 14 inch barrel.

He reloads for "bang" and minute of deer - I have no idea of accuracy.

In my XP100 pistol my load of choice for 120-grain Hornady SSP (Single Shot Pistol bullets - a tremendous mid-sized game bullet now long discontinued) was always, and still is, 31.0 grains of H322 for 2,420 fps out of my barrel. That is a touch over Hodgdon's max load, but was safe to use in my pistol with no pressure signs and long brass life. 32.0 grains of the same powder (again over manual max) gave a bit over 2,500 with 100-grain Hornady hollow points. As with any recommended loads, start low and work up. Your gun may have issues sooner and the bullets you are trying are different than those I have used.

I agree with using H322 in the 7BR. I found that to be the best powder in my XP-100 when shooting Ihmsa competition.

I had one and shot 120 gr BT in it but, I can not remember how many grains of reloader 7 I used. Go over to the Specialty Pistol forum and you will find alot of info there.
