6mmBR with 62gr Varmint Grenades

Hi

I do have a 6BR with a 1-14' Krieger barrel.

Would appreciate it if some of you guys who have been trying the 62gr V/Grenades from Barnes, could give a few load suggestions. I want to use this as a varmint load as well as to shoot some Jackal, almost like your Coyote.

I have been using the 65gr V-Max's, with great success, but can get a bunch of these bullets at a good price.

Load info with IMR 4895 and N135 as well as Varget will be good as we have a powder over here that is much the same. Any info would be much appreciated.

Keep well

I think the 14 twist may be to slow for the VG's as Barnes recommends a 10 twist or faster. These bullets are LONG for 62 grainers.

I'm having success with the 62gr VG's out of a 8 twist with about 30gr of H335 and rem 7 1/2's. Just getting rolling on this load but it has decimated about 70 sage rats.

Coopers correct. From Noslers own site the .243 VG's require a 10 twist or better.
I tried a few out of my 14 twist for fouling fun. Never hit the target. Not sure where they went but my quess would be they tumbled low.

Thanks, I have noticed they are very long for 62gr bullets.

I do have another 6mm, 6mm TBR, with a 1-8' twist, also a 243 Win, with a 1-10' twist, will use this for the VG then and will stay on the 65 V-Max's in the 6mm BR then.

Keep well

The same thing happened to me; the bullets never hit the target. I, too, have a 6mm BR with a 1:14' twist and couldn't hit the target.
