6mmBR Norma, short barrel loads?

Any suggestions for a short barrel (22.5") 6mmBR Norma loads? I will be shooting prairie dogs with it.

I have loads I shoot out of my rifle that work great for prarie dogs. My favorite is 30.5 grains of N133, CCI450 Primer, and a 65 grian Vmax. that load clocks 3575 fps out of my 27.5" barrel but Ibet it will still be cruising around 3400 fps out of yours, this bullet doesn't need extreme velocity to perform spectacular terminal effects. Another I use is 34.5 grains of AA2230 behind a 55 grain Ballistic Tip with the CCI450 Primer. That load goes 3900 fps out of my rifle but would probably be doing 3700 fps out of yours. Both loads shoot lights out with my rifle, I have a Remington 40X-BR, with a 27.5" 1 in 12" twist barrel. If you shoot a 1 in 8" twist instead I would suggest the 87 grain Vmax or 80 grain Berger behind Varget.

Thanks guys. I have a good supply of Varget, VV N530, N560, N150 along with RL 15 & RL19 and Win 748.

For bullets it's 107 Sierras and 70gr Blitz Kings.

Good topic. Here is what i am wondering/ thinking. I take my ppc barrels off at around 700 rounds so why not re chamber them for a 6br to use in the prairie dog fields? Has anyone else done this? What, like the original poster asked, would be real world velocities with 55 to 65 grain bullets with these short little barrels? These barrels would only be 21.5". Anyone? Lee

I agree. It seems like H322 is all too often overlooked for the 60-70 gr bullet loads. It's worked great for me in several 6BR's.--Mike Ezell
