Short barrel 6mmbr Norma velocity??

Hi guys,
I'm looking at building a 6mmBR Norma on a Remington model 7
& are looking at using a Lija Fulted No 4 contour & a probably a 19" length. Any body have experience what velocity could be had with a barrel this short with 105 grainers. I'm trying to
build a light weight tack hammer.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

"Light weight" and "tack driver" usually do not fit well together. With a 19" sporter weight barrel, do not expect the same accuracy that custom heavy barrels produce. I have chronographed loads with the 105 in my 26" barrel, and they run around 2800 fps. Deduct 25 - 50 fps for each inch less. Of course, there are many other factors, i.e., your load, action squareness, scope, etc., etc. Be aware, with a Model 7, feeding cartridges from the box magazine may be a problem. Fat cartridges do not stack up well. You need to find a gunsmith capable of altering the magazine. There was a link on here about a year ago on this subject; do a search and you may find. it.
