6mmBr max load with

What is the maximum charge weight for the 6mmBr with VARGET ?? I realize every rifle has it's own limitations. I'm using a BAT B with a 28" Krieger 4 groove. I've worked up from 29.60gr thru 30.80gr of my lot # of Varget and 105gr Berger H, and CCI 450 primers with no pressure signs. The groups are improving with more powder. Should I go up more in .20gr increments until I start to see pressure signs on primers and cases ? It looks very promising right now. This is my 1st 6mmBr shooting the 105gr bullets. I had another barrel on for the 95gr bullets and just switched barrels this past weekend.
Thanx again,
Rmist

You are at my barrels upper limit on Varget with the 105s. You might go up to 31 your brass is not gonna last long primer pockets will probably loosen up. Pressure will spike quick

I take one case and keep loading it up to see where pressure starts. That way you only lose one case. You should be OK with a .20 increase. Don't watch for cratering on your BAT. It will show up first with sticky bolt or slight ejector marks. Matt

I'll load a few with one per charge...sounds like a good idea and not losing to many cases. With 30.80 groups are very good. I just wanted to know what the max most were finding.
Thanx again,
Rmist

30.8 would be to hot in my 6BR but i have a different barrel 236 bore, also you are in Pa. cool weather, might not work in summer ???

My barrel is 236...but it was only 46 degrees F when I was shooting. I'd expect it to be a little hot in the dog days of summer here. I did figure on working another load up when it's warmer next year !!

I did a work up with 105 Hybrids in a Shilen 8 twist. I decided to quit at 30.5 grains. Bolt lift was stiff and primers getting flat.

Went out today...31.2 gr of Varget is when I had heavy bolt lift primer was flat. Shot a couple groups with 30.8 grs. Velocity was only 2780 average, SD of 9.7, I use a CED chronograph. Reading on the home page seems like all the 105 bullets are going 2900 + in fps. Is that normal for this setup? Bullets are jammed in .010". I haven't even started seating test yet.
Any thoughts???
Thx again

Around 2800 for the 105 is realistic. Your velocity may go up a little as you come out of the lands during seating depth tests.
I wouldn't worry about it. You may want to back off a little brass might last a longer.
Primer pockets will get loose
