6mmbr in short barrel??

I'm thinking of building a 6mmbr using an XP 100 pistol. I want to use a 15" Lilja 8Tw barrel with a muzzle diameter of 0.750".
Has anyone been there, done that? If so, may I ask for guidance, imput, or advice? Any suggestion of a gunsmith that specializes in XP pistols? Thanks for your help.

Bumtown Butch,

I have no valid experience, but if I am not mistaken that very subject was discussed here on this particular forum not all that long ago.. Either just start paging back or do a search and I am sure you'll find what your looking for..

I've got a X-P with a 16 inch, 14 twist, .262" tight necked 6BR. Runs 55 grain Ballistic Tips at 3300.

It's actually a switch barrel, with the other tube being an 18" 6.5-284 in an 8 twist.

So I'm kinda covered for all ranges........

Might be for sale for the right moola. ;D

My uncle and I have my entire basement converted to a reloading /gun room. He has aa xp100 that recently was done by clay spencer (he's in the gunsmith section on this site) it has an 18" barrel and its switch barrel 14 twist and 8 twist barrels in 6mmbr. Clay is the man with an xp. This one will regularly group in the .1s and .2s. You will want a muzzlebrake on this gun too it takes a lot of the jump out of the gun. I had it out a couple of weeks ago and was shooting gatorade bottles filled with water @500yds shot for shot if I did my part. I would highly reccomend him and his work. He makes his own barrels and bullets and has a couple of guns on the 50 great guns section. Give him a call you won't be dissapointed
