6mmBR + 110 SMK + Varget = ???

This is what I have and I'd love to run it. Looking at the AS page, it looks to me like maybe 29ish grains to start?

Anyone doing it?

Any suggestions for making it work?

I am running 29.7 grains of Varget with the 110 smk. I am shooting it out of a 21" 7 twist proof research barrel as a tactical rifle. Jumping the smk .015". Getting 2720 fps with this load. Love it!

Thank you. I'll be running a 24ish inch barrel. I appreciate your input. A lot.

Tommy. Thanks a bunch. I will work up slowly, that's for sure. I'm just looking for guidance, not absolutes.

FWIW, 30.0gr Varget jumped .040 with Wolf SRM. 2800 in a 26" Bartlein. Unfortunately seems to not stabilize in my 7.7 twist at those velocities. 800 yards and beyond I get unexplained fliers.

...Unfortunately seems to not stabilize in my 7.7 twist at those velocities...

I to tried them from a 7.75 twist with a 6Dasher at +3000-fps, and also had poor stability.
By my math, I would want a 7.25-twist or faster for them.

Donovan, I was talking with my old 'smith in Houston last night. He has done A LOT of testing with the Sierra 110, 150 and 183s. It is his "studied and experienced" opinion that with the 110 and 150s a straight 1-7 is necessary to stabilize them and obtain the best accuracy, especially out to and past 1000 yards. I would bet that a 7.25 would work just fine though.. He states that the 110s will slice thru the wind like you won't believe! I bet he is right!
