6mmAI powder choices?

I'm looking into new options for my 6mmAI. So far I have only tested nosler 95gr B-tips with RL-19, but that is because I can't find info anywhere! While the load works, and clocks good velocities,3500 fps), it just doesn't shoot worth a hoot. I would like to get some insight on other powders for the 95-105 gr bullet range. Any advice would be a great help, thanks.

I use H-4350 with all bullet weights in my 6mm AI..... especially with the 80 gr Fowlers.
H-4831SC would be my next choice....

Assuming the gun has at least a 26" barrel, I'd start with H4350 and work down the scale,ie towards 4831). The expansion ratio in your chambering is pretty low and only the slower powders are going to allow you to utilize all that case capacity. You can certainly go with H380 and the like, but you'll have a bunch of empty space left in the case, and I doubt you built a 6mmAI to shoot .243 loads.

hi I had the best results with h1000 but do not start to high but I had the best groups I couldn't find the data but it did work well for me

with a 14 twist, the 80g Sierra Blitz BT Loves the R#19 with a CI250 and a max load for that rifle, I shot 48.5g in mine at 3850 fps, amazing accuracy.

Another load was 52.5g of Win 760 with the 70g Nosler BT at 4150 fps shooting a single ragged hole.

Good luck to you!

I pretty much use H4350 & H4831 in my .243 A.I.. The H4350 for bullet weights under 80 grn. and H4831 for weights above 80 grn. Those two powders should cover a whole range of bullets and give good results. There are other powders but these are the two I have had success with.
