6mm XC 115 DTAC Naked Bullet with H4350

I am having a hard time with a 115 DTAC load for uncoated bullets in a 6XC. I started to try some loads found in search only to find out they were coated bullets. I have about 450 left in box and after I shoot those I am going to 105 or 107s. Anyone suggest a load to start with an uncoated bullet and H4350? All I could find was one person shooting them over 38 gr. Any feedback appreciated....I just want to load and shoot:)

i’m shooting them in a creedmoor not an xc but two barrels seem to like 40.4 gr h4350 in both starline and alpha cases both. could be a coincidence of course...

that said - i couldn’t make them shoot sierra 107’s at all, which seems like it should have been a slam dunk. want to just swap some bullets? :)

What twist rate is your barrel? With the 115's I assume you'd need something in the neighborhood of 1:7.5" twist or better to ideally stabilize the bullets.

It is a Bartlien barrel I asked to be chambered for the 115. Short Action Custom build and it shot Tubb’s Ammo fine..it’s the lack of data..I’m not use to not finding it in a book..

I'm shooting the 110 SMK"s in a 7.5 twist SLR. I've never shot the latest version os the DTAC's because the 110 SMK's have been shooting so darn well. Some barrels just prefer one bullet over the other. Let the rifle tell you what it likes and don't lose any more sleep over it. ;)
I hope this helps.

Zero difference between the 2 bits of load data in my experience. Coach shifted from uncoated to coated early in the life of his last barrel. Otherwise identical load spec's with the only difference being coated/uncoated there was no difference at all in downrange performance.

If you want load data, here:

start at 38gr of H4350 with the bullet jump set at .040 and work up to 39.5gr. Something in there will perform well, then mess with your jumps if you're so inclined.

FWIW, my coach has been shooting that combo for almost 3 years. We now have 2 new 6XC pipes running the same combo. For us 39.5 of H4350 seated to just short of 2.8" COAL gives super tight SD's and bughole groups on any of those 3 barrels. We're using Norma brass and F210's.

Thanks. Everything I read to subtract 1.5 gr from a coated bullet recipe but I loaded up a bunch of loads as you suggested starting at 38 gr H4350. Others said the same and its the start load on Tubb’s 6XC Page...appreciate the guidance!

Dunno about that 1.5 grain down stuff. Sounds like typical nervous nellie "taking cautionary too far" internet lawyer wannabe nonsense got passed down to you. Some people think that 1 or 2 grains of powder too hot and their rifle will turn into a banana despite hundreds of years of evidence to the contrary. Good luck. Let us know how you end up doing.

With moly maybe but my loads with HBN and clean is basically the same but obviously your barrel might behave differently
