115 DTAC

I have been shooting uncoated 115dtac's with good results. I ordered 1000 of them, but they made a mistake and sent me the boron coated ones instead. I am thinking that i should send them back as i am afraid they won't shoot as well. I am thinking that i will need to increase the powder charge to get the same velocity with the lower pressure with the coated bullets. I talked to someone at Tubbs where i ordered the them at he told me the coated will shoot better. I am winning matches in my class with the uncoated bullets so i am nervous about changing anything. If anyone has shot both bullets i would appreciate all comments.

Same thing just happened to me, ordered bare-received coated. From talking to others shooting coated, would see a drop in velocity. Not interested in working up another load, sending them back.

increase the charge .5 grain at a time until you have the sweet spot again. probably 10 rnds to finish. if naked was better, i am sure tubb would be shooting naked! if 10rnds is too much to invest in the load, by all means send them back and wait on more to arrive.

Soak them in Acetone and then tumble them and they will be naked.

I'm not sure you have been sent HBN coated Dtacs by mistake, it appears that is all you can get at the moment. I know of two orders to the UK that were both supposed to be the naked Dtac but both lots were Dtacs with boron.

The only reason I don't shoot HbN coated bullets is I hate applying it, my next rifle will probably be a 6mm of some sort, then only 115 coated DTACs, cleaning is a joke, accuracy was great, none of Moly's negatives, just increase your charge slightly and go shooting.
