6mm Super Lr/ super x loads

Went out and shot from 715 to 1145 yards with the dtac and 45.8 grains h4831sc today, either my magneto is lying or the powder charge is running real fast. 100 yard zero took 12.5 to get to 715, took 25 to get to 1145. Tell me what you guys think

Da was 1909, temp was 49 degrees and scope was vortex hst. Confirmed zero today, but did not get a chance to shoot past 100 today. Will try to shoot 6 to 800 yards in next week or so to see if dope jives with the other day. If so, the 2930 average magneto is telling me i would have to use about a .515 g7 to make the numbers work

Thanks xtr, i think i have 4831sc topped out or near it without having to trash the brass. I am looking at alternatives that may get me some more velocity than 2950fps in a 27" barrel with less pressure on the brass.

I will look at the 4831 thread you posted some more, but i am at 45.8 now with 2950 to 2975 fps have yet to re shoot the load over chrono and that is with the dtac

I couldn't get speed from H4831 either. The RL26 is the best speed getter.

I never ran any h4350 loads in mine. Tried a few h 1000 loads, then 4831 sc and it loves the dtac .030" off the lands and for me 45.8 grains outs me at a 5 shot average of 2935 but will bug whole thise 5 shots so stopped there.

May have to try the rl 26, just for the heck of it, wouldn't mind a 115 grain at 3000 or better

Haven't been out with this for a while. Took 3rd at a local shoot with this combo, but after playing around with it, my load seems to be in the 3140 fps area. My magnetospeed is not telling the tite info. Checked drops and reverse figured info. Need to run on goid chrono and see where i am at really.

Scott, I don't have a problem any more i went to Lapua brass and it's head and shoulders above WW. If your looking for better accuracy, you have to turn necks and i went with a .272 neck and the Lapua brass lets me do that. I fired one piece of brass 12 times during barrel brake in on a new 5r Bartlein and it's annealed and in the rotation with the rest of the brass. This load of 43.5 has always shot in mid too high one's at a hundred so i guess the old story that Lapua won't work isn't a fact of life any more.........jim
