I currently have 2 bbls. chambered in the 6mm S-LR. One in a 7.75 and one in 8 twist. The faster twist is used only for 115 VLD style bullets and the 8 twist for either DTACS or 105's. I previously shot a 6XC so it was a no-brainer to shift to the S-LR because I already had the dies. (6XC) I have good accuracy nodes with both bbls. in the low 3,000 fps to 3,120 range. With 115 VLD's the cartridge will shoot inside my 6.5x284 on a calm day at 1K. Now, if it’s gusty, the 6.5 will win every time. In regards to powders, I feel that is one of the important pieces to the puzzle of improving bbl. life. My two "go to" powders are H-1000 and N-160 depending on bullet weight. Both are cool burning and keep throat erosion to a minimum, and both have served me well.
I hope this helps,
Lloyd
