6mm remington Ackley.... any load info??

Ive read some guys getting 4000fps w 87 grain vmax's with a 28" barrel. Is this true? sounds like a 14 twist 3 groove but unsure. Just curious thats all.

According to Quick Load it can't be done within safe pressure limits. In fact you are really pushing things and over pressure getting to 3600 fps with a 87gr Vmax.

That would be miraculous with an 87. But 70's at 4000+ is very do-able.

I agree that 87 grains at 4k is unreasonable, even in a 30" barrel. If you are looking for top velocity and good accuracy, try the 58g V-Max. This little bullet shoots very well in my 9" twist, 26" barrel 6mm Remington with a stiff load of Varget. I get ~4050 with .4-.5" 5-shot, 100 yard groups. The ballistics are certainly not equal to the 87 but it is a good 600 yard load that will ruin a varmint's day.

An 87Vmax @ 4000fps is not going to happen out of the 6mm AI. Anything above 3500fps in a 26" barrel is a bonus without pressure signs.
