6mm rem. 700 and 105 amax

i have an older 6mm rem. 700 22" sporter bdl. will the 105 amaxs cycle from the mag box. am needing some long range bullets that will stabilize at longer distances. will be shooting varget . bought alot when the scare was in effect. so got to use it . if anyone has a box i would like to buy and try

Have you checked the barrel twist to be sure it can handle a 105 grain?

was told the older 6mm was a 1/9.5

I have several 6mm Rems and Varget gave best results in the 55-65 grain range. H4350 is the powder of choice from 75 up to 100. Over 100, best results came from H4831 SC and IMR 7828 SSC.

If the 105s don't work for you, try the 95gr Berger VLD. Works well in a 1-9 twist.......

found some moly coated . but i dont shoot moly is this a problem or should i not get them. any info please.

Just my opinion, but Moly is a PITA........

I doubt you will find anything that will remove the moly without damaging the bullet or at least the tip. The was I see it is the moly is supposed to stay on (some of it anyway) during a nearly 3000fps trip down the barrel. I would think it's going to take a good bit of effort to remove it.

Maybe some sort of solvent used to remove moly from the barrel? But like I said, the tip is plastic and probably won't like it much.

More of a pain than it's even worth.

I have had great luck, removing Moly from bullets, using Kroil. Doesn't hurt the tips either.
