6mm PPC Accuracy and Bullet stabilization.

I never shoot a hot barrel. In fact, I use a barrel fan to cool the barrel. I usually shoot three or five shot groups, depending on the particular rifle, and then allow the barrel to cool. Over heated barrels are why there are so many prosperous barrel manufacturers out there. So you bedded the action. That's a good step but that one inch of the barrel is a no-no. More important is to tune the torque of the mounting screws.

I shoot 5 shot groups with cleanings in between.

Aside from reloading for this rifle, I have not done anything to it. I had a gunsmith look at it for me to figure out what this rifle is and to inquire about making it more accurate. I was informed, because it is a Sako action, there is nothing more that I would want to do, because it might hurt the rifle more than improve it. I do not know what you mean by "one inch of the barrel is a no-no".

Excellent advice. I have helped a number of fellows get started with their first 6PPC and invariably, after they shoot their first small group they want to go looking for the magic bullet. Benchrest is not won by the smallest group. It is won by the smallest average of groups. A new shooter may shoot small from time to time, and once he knows that his equipment and load are working, IMO his next task is to try to learn how to do that consistently. Changing components only complicates that process. Spend your time learning how to adjust your load as conditions change, and read wind flags. The Watson bullets are probably one of the least tricky to tune, and they have an excellent record.
