6mm NBR varget load question

Problem: 29.5gr of Varget almost fills my case and seating the bullets is REALLY difficult. Is this normal?

Details: I have once fired 6mm NBR brass from the blue box. I have re-sized them with the Wilson resizing die and primed them. I am loading the Berger 105 VLDs.

I wanted to load at 29.5gr, 30gr and 30.5gr. I figure I would shoot them from low to high and see if there are any pressure marks. I think my target load is 30.3 to 30.5gr of Varget from everything I have read here.

Ideas or comment?

You have refered to "blue box", so I'm assuming you are using Lapua brass? I am loading 33.0 gr of Varget with 68 gr bullets and the powder level is right at the shoulder/neck junction. Hodgdon lists 34.0 grain maximum for a compressed load.

Double check your scale. If you have a second scale try it. Varget should be ideal from 29 to 31 with heavies and up to 35 with light bullets. 29.5 is about half way up the shoulder on my cases. I am using the gold box Lapua.
Good luck,
Vern
