6mm mach 4 load data

If you want to set fire to the coyote population. Build you one of my toys. A 30/378 Wearherby with a 5R 1-13" twist 31" Bartlein pushing a 125 grain Hornady SST at 4,130. And you are correct. I really don't give a shit how long the barrel survives. When you see stuff just disappear in front of your eyes, then, you know your blowing stuff up. Have fun and enjoy it!! There are Plenty barrel makers that will be glad to take your order.

Believe it or not, but running some #'s in the Berger twist calc., those 107's @ 3,400 fps and 3000 above sea level will stabilize. Not optimally stable but enough stable not to tumble.

Give them 107's a good shot !!

Please update us in the future if the 12 twist works for you or not.

My buddy runs a (Jarrett) .243 Catbird, 1:14 twist Hart. Pretty much, its a 6-06 Imp 35°
He can spool a 70Btip 4050 from a 26" barrel, via a goodly amount of RL-22. So, your expectations are quite realistic!
He's tried up to 85gr Sierras successfully in that slow twist, shows how uber-velocity can help stabilize a bullet that wouldn't at more 'conventional' speeds. That's what you're shooting for, if you want your bullets to make it to target in one piece... ;)
I talked him into a building .22-243AI for coyote hunting a couple years back. Now he only shoots the Catbird at the range, the .22-243AI is just so much more pleasant to shoot on stand. Matter of fact, the Catbird barrel is toast from range shooting, LOL. He's going with a 1:12 this time around, wanting to spin up to 88gr Bergers. Bet a 95VLD would spin at that speed, too. Again, the slow twist will keep RPM in check and help prevent jacket failure...

Anyhoo, good luck, the 6MachIV sounds like a smoker! Have fun & let us know how it shakes out...

Well update time.

Lesson learned read the ******************* print before you buy a reamer. Stupidly I bought a reamer called 6mm mach 4 when in fact it looks to be a 6-284 .

Silly me I thought buying dies would be the hard part but rcbs was all set and ptg has some guys personal reamer design listed as 6mm mach 4 .

So now I am back on the hunt for a reamer that is a 7mm rem mag with a 40* shoulder necked down to 6mm .

Getting real tired , may look at options

Why not have a reamer ground? JGS will get you one in whatever time frame they quote you. You'll also be able to do set backs and have more barrels chambered with your own reamer.

Well the idea was to get a reamer and ptg had it listed. I am going to give them this week to figure it out . Then I am changing things up

I have in my safe a 257stw toy that shoots 110 accubonds at 3650 ft per sec out to 400yd point and shoot . 250 rounds on it now for hunting will last a long time someone ask why I said I want to kill them deader and faster.DW

That 6x284 wouldn't be a bad choice, It ought to be some pretty impressive results, especially the lighter bullets you are looking at. You ought to run some calc's with those bullets, I think you'll be surprised . Its a real efficient case, I bet its not that much behind the 6mach IV

Yeah you are correct. I am sure it is a fast and furious Set up but, I have a Magnum boltface , 7mm mag brass and 6mm Mach 4 dies already.

Pacific tool and gauge lost my business by never responding to my email or phonecalls looking for the correct reamer. I wanted to buy one with the correct dimensions. Never asked for a refund or exchange. Just wanted to buy another .
So I called jgs and the reamer should be here some time in January. Then a matter of days and it will be shot. The brass is prepared, bullets are chosen , barrel is ready , stock is ready, scope and rings are ready . I am ready .
