6mm Hornady 105gr BTHP question

Question is concerning thenew Hornady 105gr BTHP with AMP jacket. Wondering what its actual G7 BC is and how has it performed at 600yd and 1000yds. Currently shooting the Nosler 105's in my .243 and wondeing how the Hornady's compare. Thanks in advance.

Check this out. A visual Comperison only, cant help you out with the G7 BC Maybe Bryan will post something pretty soon on that one.

Havent shot it at 600 yet, only 300, got this 10 shot grouping late in the season, used 4000MR powder, CCIBR & Win brass. Seat these 105s into the lands a bit, they wont shoot off the lands in my 700.

They shoot really well, shot this at 600 with a scope and sling (sr1 target)

Bill I believe he is asking about the Hornady 105BTHP Match bullet in my picture, The shinny one third from the left. Do you have G7 for that?

Cheers

That was what I was thinking but not positive and this is why I specified that the BC I quoted was for the AMax.
Sorry, I don't have the BC for the BTHP. I got the AMax BC by first running the Litz AMax on JBM, then adjusting the G7 BC until it matched.

0.2482 is what I calculated for the 105 BTHP (G7) .500 (G1)

hope this helps

So the G1 is .500 and not .530 as Hornady prints? Great now I have to change my picture above....

I will tell you this much. With my 6SLR with a 200 yard zero 1000yds is only 25moa runing right around 3080fps. And boy do they shoot. Went to AIM in Blakely Ga Satruday morning and shot it 12 times with the load I have developed for it using H4350 and the Hornady 105bthp match. Dropped 1 in the 9 ring but called it. Shot 11 10's and 7 of those were X's. Im ordering some more Hornady's today.

Are you guys jumping or jaming these new AMP 105 HPBTs? I just picked up a box for my Dasher.

Using Vitavouri behind the 105s I got about a seven inch group at 1,000 yards with only a front bag rest.

Shot this 5 shot group at 1000 off bipod and bag. It was the only group I shot that far but I suspect I’ll probably never do it again. No wind at all.

My 243 shoots the 105 Hornady HPBT very well. I have grouped 1.7 inch at 540 yds in the wind. This is out of my Savage lrp 243 with Criterion barrel. So I'm very happy with Hornady.
