6MM Dasher Seating Die.

Can someone recommend a good high quality 6 dasher seating die? The Forster die I have is a piece of crap. I like my 6 BR Redding dies but they don't make a dasher set, dand it. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

See if you can take a 6mm BR Redding Seating die and run your Dasher chambering reamer into the seating sleeve. Viola"

I just moved to Wilson seating dies for my match rifles. I like them very much. In reality, they are no faster, nor slower than the press mounted dies, and concentricity is excellent.

When I started shooting 6 Dasher the only seating die I could find in stock was the plain-jane Forster. Indeed, it is a wobbly piece of junk that won't hold a setting. (I got it to work marginally better by stacking a pile of o-rings under the adjuster head... it helped) Then it occurred to me to try my Redding 6BR comp seater. It works just fine on a 6 Dasher.

I use a Wilson seater for my dasher. That being said I own quite a few Forster dies, all with the micro tops and I have never had a problem with any of them. Some calibers I have had both Forster and Wilson for and I can say there was negligible if any difference in the accuracy or concentricity between the two. I prefer the feel that comes with using an arbor press. To come out and say a die is a peice of crap and not give any reasons why seems odd.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. Several good suggestions made, and I think I'll look into The Wilson set up. I'll look into trying my 6 BR seater also.

I said the Forester was crap because it is not accurate and the setting is never consistent. I measure my bullets on the ojive and point and meplat before loading.

Thanks again....

Had my Dasher a while, got a Wilson in-line 6br and had my smith cut it with my Dasher reamer, works great.

You definitely know when you need to small base size your brass when you use a die cut with your own reamer. I cut my own 6br from a blank many years ago and then converted it to a Dasher last year. Every now and then I have to persuade the brass to come back out of the die.

Speaking of which, will Wilson sell a micrometer seater blank? I've only seen the basic blank.

How well do the Wilson cut dies fit standard PTG Dasher reamer body dimensions?

They sell the micrometer tops

Thank you! I can't believe I have never seen that before. Ordered one a few minutes ago.

I use Forster FL honed sizer and mic seater die for my 6 Dasher and have 0 issues. I have the mic seaters for 220 Swift and 257 Ackley, and no problems with them either. I will buy more when needed. Barlow
