After considering the 7mm WSM for a time and seeking advice here and elswhere, I have decided to take the more reasonable path as far as recoil and cost are concerned. The 7mm WSM and the 6.5/284 I also considered will be higher in one or both catagories than a smaller caliber.
I have pretty much decided to proceed with a 6mm Dasher,or similar 6mm BR round) and have a question for you experts. I already had a Savage 110 barreled action in 30-06 bought with the 7mm WSM in mind. Is there any reason I cannot use this action for the Dasher? As a single shot I really don't think the longer action will be troublesome to me, but are there technical issues to be aware of?
BTW, this is for a combo friendly competition, varmint gun in the 300-700 yard area for target and prairie dog shoots. Friends all have 6.5/284's and I want something different, and that will out shoot them
)).
Thanks for the help.
