6mm Dasher loaded rounds

flexible

Silver $$ Contributor
HI everyone, flexible here.
Having a rifle built soon (2 barrels, 2 stocks for BR, one in 30BR and one in 6mm Dasher) I have enough Lapua 6mm Norma BR to form to 30BR (100 pieces but the last of my supply) but for the Dasher part I'm on multiple wait lists for Lapua 6mm BR brass so I also started looking at fully loaded 6mm Dasher.
I got on the Eagle Eye Precision list but I see Hendershot's has loaded Dasher BUT for a very high price.
Has anyone tried Eagle Eye or Hendershot's???
thanks

Consider the Alpha Dasher brass........

Alpha Dasher brass is excellent. Case capacity is a bit less than fire formed Lapua, but it won't make a lick of difference on the target after normal load development. Example - I run 35.6 gr. of RL-16 behind a 105 Hybrid in Lapua brass and 35.1 gr. in Alpha. Both loads require a drop tube and they both shoot very tight at the same velocity, give or take a few fps.

Lapua brass lasts forever. I'm still working on the Alpha to see if durability is comparable. So far, so good...

I use both Lapua and Alpha in different Dashers. Both are excellent. If you use Alpha, be aware that the brass is thicker and a reamer designed around Lapua may not have adequate neck clearance. You can always neck turn as well if you have a clearance problem. I ended up getting a second reamer for the Alpha brass to make it plug-and-play.

I have some Alpha, 6bra, that has 31 firings on it and everything is still good to go. Mind you I was running around 2850 fps, definitely not hot.

Just a whisper loader here. Two Norma Dasher's Brux 1-7.5 30" Barrels.
105HB Varget 450's.
one at 30.8 and one at 31.7 ??? They both clean a 600 F/Class Target ??
only shot one of them at 1000 on a F/Class Target 31.7 Rifle 148-5X (15 for record). at Sacramento CA. not a easy Range. In the 2890 range.

I've recently been shooting loaded 6 dasher ammo from Hendershots in a new (to me) rifle that had about 300 rounds through it. It is expensive, but it has also allowed me to shoot the new rifle without concern for the performance variables in the ammo that would otherwise accompany a new reloader (me!).

Garmin chrono data from two recent strings:
26 shots: avg. MV 288618.8 ES, 5.1 SD
39 shots: avg. MV 2880, 19.8 ES, 4.9 SD

~.3" groups at 100, and 2.5"- 3.8" at 600 from a Defiance Tenacity, Bartlein 28" w/Harrell's tuner brake, Berger 105's, Alpha brass.

I'm going to continue ordering from Hendershots while I build out my reloading setup. I read that they'll reload my brass from my initial order, but I don't have a price for that. Hope this helps.

Planning can get stressful if you let it - be sure to enjoy the process. I hope it's fun for you. Had a bit of success this past weekend at my local 600 yd. club match. I caught some good conditions and was fortunate to shoot a 1.845" and a 2.520" enroute to a 20 shot agg of 3.5975". This is not intended to be boastful at all - too many good shooters here for that and I've got a long way to go on my own journey. Just sharing with you to further validate the quality of the product from Hendershots.
