What is acceptable es with the dasher. Can test at 400yds, what is acceptable accuracy on avg. at 400

If I have any more than 12 fps I look for a new load. I have found it is easy to stay under 10 fps es with the dasher. For example, I was doing a seating depth test Saturday loading at the range. I fired about 35 rounds, same powder charge. My es was 12 out of all rounds fired.
I know there is a lot of people who shoot in the 1's all day long. I am happy If I consistently shoot .2-.25 moa.

Single digit ES and 1" or less in perfect conditions to be competitive.

I don't worry too much about ES and SD anymore, I look at the vertical and the group size. I don't wear a barrel out on mid range. I did shoot some at 500 and groups run around .6 out of a good barrel......jim

Doc. .600 on my good barrels some .750.The barrel i shot on my light gun at the national shot in .084 for 10 rds.@100yds.It did good there and the wind was very tricky. I think what people don't see is a barrel that shoots in the wind, not always small but it does help if you have both. The Dasher is a big plus also........jim

alf's reply: "Single digit ES and 1" or less in perfect conditions to be competitive."

I believe Al's reply (RED, above) address your specific questions: this 1.0" is the required precision at 400 Yd. - NOT MOA. ;D RG

I don't think a 1/4 min. gun will cut it at level these guys shoot any more,.Fillippo, Check the equipment list Harry Jones or VA.1000 or the National when it comes out....... Jim

Just got back from the nats....not one 1/4 min group shot all weekend in either class, much less a 1/4 min agg.

Just sayin....

Tod, i was standing right beside you and it wasn't the guns fault for not shooting 1/4 min. I was close with some 3's but the wind did me in. jim

Donovan, You are right, but the conditions affect it more at 1K than up close. What i meant was how small they shoot at 100 yds. tells you how big they are at 1K. Last year i didn't make the shoot off with a 3" 50 at Harry Jones. Nobody can see the 1 mph. change but if it holds you can shoot small. I would like to shoot a gun that is capable of breaking the record,i go through a lot of barrels looking for one that shoot small in the wind.........jim
