6mm Creedmoor load using Sierra 107's or 110's MK's

Anyone have load development for 6mm Creedmoor using Sierra 107 or 110 grain matchkings?

Interesting observation. I was at Cabela's yesterday and looked at a box of Hornady 108's which require a twist rate of 1-8" whereas the Sierra 110's recommend a twist rate of 1-7" and the Sierra 107's require a twist rate of 1-8" or faster but from the picture on their web site, the Sierra 110's have a completely different shape, longer, more sleek, all with a 3 grain difference in weight or a two grain when comparing the Hornady 108's. That's amazing to me.

The Sierra 110 is by far longer and sleeker than any other 6mm bullet out there. The BC I believe is actually better than advertised as well. I am running them in my 6mmXC and pushing them at 3070fps with 40.0gr of R-16 in a 7.5tw 26" Proof barrel. I know its not the 6 Creed but its a place to start as they are similar in case capacity. I would Imagine you could work up to 41-41.5gr in the 6 Creed. I am having to use a G7 BC value of .315 to match my actual drops at the range.

The 110's will stabilize very well in a 7.5", the 107's do great in an 8". I've shot thousands of both. In a 6 Creed size case there is a nice node usually in the 3080-3120 range with the 110. RL16 or H4350.

I am looking at a 7.7" twist rate 24" barrel and trying to decide if I should purchase it and then go ahead and order the 110's or 107's. Obviously the 107's are a safe bet, wondering if the 110's will stabilize and stay that way out to 1,000.

You never know until you try with 110. I've shot lots out of a 7.5" and my current 7.3" loves them. 107's are really good to 900 but if it's windy at 1K you need to be a little more on top of it. But they'll still get the job done. 107's are always a sure bet and very easy to work with. Some barrels can be finicky with 110.

Go with the 107s, I never had much luck with the 110s. I can almost guarantee you will be happy with 107s, I can't say the same with the 110s.

The 105 Hybrids would be my 2nd choice. They are normally my first choice but I just had to try the 110s since they have such an amazing BC. I kept reading they were very finicky to load for and people were having issues. I, however, never had a bit of trouble. I measured my length to lands and seated them with a 25 thou jump and proceeded to shoot half moa or better groups right from the get go.

I ordered both the 107's and 110's. I just can't pass up the BC on those 110's.

It is easy to see visually why the 110's would be more efficient. Only 3 grains heavier, or 2.7 percent heavier, they are 11 percent more efficient when considering their ballistic coefficient. They appear to have exactly the same bearing surface but if you look at the 110 there is quite a bit more material out in front of it. Just looking at them though says enough.Pic1Sierra107sand110s.jpg

Get them to shoot and you are good to go. Dont waste to much barrel wear on them though (talking from experience).
I'm guessing you are referring to the 110's, right? So far everyone who is not shooting the 1-7" twist has said they have had no problems getting them to perform, but there are always the variables. Mine will be going through a 24" factory RPR barrel. I'll do a ladder test with each and see what happens.

Do the 107’s like a certain jump for you?
I’m looking at these and the 105 hybrids for a 6x47 Lapua build, and don’t know which way to go.

Sierra as well as Hodgdon publish their data using Winchester or other Large rifle primers. I'd be using small rifle primers. What effect will the difference in primers have?

No experience with 6CM but .260 Rem and .308 I have shot both LRP and SRP cases. When developing just start low and work your way up same as always.
