6mm Creedmoor brass

From Peterson Cartridge today, 6 Creedmoor SRP has a .060" flash hole, approx. 53.1 gr. H2O.

Now if I just knew the H2O capacity of 6 Creedmoor Lapua brass, anyone?

I am measuring 51.2gr of H2O for Lapua 6.5mm Creedmoor necked down to 6mm Creedmoor UNFIRED.

I have always used Lapua brass in my 260AI.

I am putting together a 6mm Creedmoor AR10. My question, would I be better off necking down Lapua 6.5CM, etc.

I am not a fan of Hornady brass.
I have 600pcs of Hornady 6 Creed brass, it's outstanding, going on 11 firings this season, I did buy some Alpha brass for comparison, though.

I'd assume quality is much better. I'd like to see the capacity difference. Small primer would be nice. I'm debating using Alpha or just neck Lapua.
Alpha makes the srp 6 creed brass, but I'm sticking with lrp, if I can get good life out of Hornady brass the Alpha is going to be even better, the Hornady brass I have is very consistent, btw, not so much in weight, but neck thicknesses it is.

Here's one of my lrp 6 creed brass by Alpha.

I now have some ADG/Atlas brass, and it holds, after much H2O testing, 50grs of water,(same as 6xc) weighs about 10 grains more than Alpha, 20 more than Hornady, takes about 1.5grs less H4350 than my Hornady load of 41.3grs, did pretty well in some pressure testing a few weeks ago, accuracy was good as well. Basically the ADG brass holds same amount as 6XC brass does, with 39.6grs being one of the accuracy nodes.

Anyone have a capacity comparison of Lapua vs Peterson yet? I just loaded up 41 to 43gr of H4831SC under DTACs in Peterson SRP in anticipation for picking my rifle up this week. I'll be trying RL26 shortly after.

I've not tried the Peterson brass but if given a choice between Lapua and Alpha, I'm going Alpha. On my 4th 6creed barrel and used Alpha for the last 2. Great stuff, incredibly consistent access comes it a real ammo box!

I purchased a few hundred from Alpha earlier this year for a build that’s just now coming together.

It’s pretty and comes in a nice box

I'm using Peterson 6 Creedmoor necked down for my 22 Creedmoor. Already 4 firings and the primer pockets feel the same as new.

Just did Load D with Peterson brass. Kind of dissapointed in the case capacity. Turns the 6Creed into an XC. I ordered 100 Lapua and 100 Alpha to directly compare. If those don't do markedly better, I'll just stick with the 6SLR.

I'd be very interested to see how those three compare. Thanks for posting up your results.

I weighed all three brands of brass. AVE over 5 rds for each was:

Alpha
157.60gr ES .68gr

Lapua
169.60gr ES .44gr

Peterson
170.45gr ES 1.74gr

Haven't shot any Lapua or Alpha yet.

I just shot all three with an identical charge, bullet, rifle. The results arent surprising.

43.1gr H4831SC, 115 DTAC .020" jump

Alpha
AVE - 2858fps, no pressure

Lapua - 2880fps, pressure signs, shiny headstamp, ejector slot marks, no hard bolt lift, 1 round crunched when seating the bullet.

Peterson- 2908fps, pressure signs, shiny headstamp, ejector slot marks, hard bolt lift, all three rds crunched when seating bullets.

If you go to the Alpha web site, be careful with some of the links within. The site appears to have been compromised. That or my ISP has a screwy DNS server. Look at their 6XC link.

Looking for brass to feed thru a semi auto AR10? I would hesitate to use ultra-premium brass. Maybe just my experience, but semi auto's chew up / ding the brass pretty good. Also need to be sized down more than you would for a bolt gun, to ensure reliable feeding.
