6mm Comp Match mid weight bullet loads needed

Hey Folks,

I just got another 6 Comp Match barrel from Dave Bruno and screwed it on tonight, so it's time for a short load development..

I'll be using this one for across the course highpower competition. My question is, does anyone shoot the mid-weight bullets in their comp match?

I've got plenty of 105/107/115 bullets on the shelf, but I'd love to try either the 87gr Vmax or the 95gr SMK/TSMK. Does anyone have any load data or starting points for these bullets with H1000?

Let me know.
Regards,
Ross

Holy hell. I ain't sure you can get enough h1000 in the case for a lighter bullet and get a decent velocity but maybe I'm wrong. I will be watching this. Good luck sir.

The straight 95 gr Sierra BTHP doesn't mind jumping a lot so that would be my 1st choice but having said that, I'm shooting the Hornady 87 gr BTHP jumping a lot also.

I've never tried the 95's in my 6SLR but with the 105 ~ 107 class bullets, H-1000 has worked great. As above, not sure how the volume of this powder is going to work with the 95's though as I crunch quite a bit of powder even seating the 105's pretty long, the cases are very full.

If you do a search on here or find a way to get in touch with Joe he will be glad to share his information on the lighter bullets. He uses lighter bullets for rapid fire in XC, my memory fails me on the information due to the fact I've never shot lighter than 105 gr. bullets. I would suggest searching joesr post.

I was at the range the same time as Joe last week, but I didn't think to ask him because I didn't realize that I had two boxes of those bullets to try.
I just checked Hodgdon's reloading site and they list 45.0 - 48.0gr of H1000 in the regular .243win for a Nosler 95gr partition. So, I'll start in the middle of that and go from there.

Thanks everyone,
Ross

Ross, I'm running 49.9 H1000 in my .243 with a 105 Hornaday bthp match bullet. In my 6CM (Competition Match) I run 48.7 grains of H1000 with a 115 DTAC.
