6mm BRDX 8 Twist

Hello,

I have been rounding up components for a new rifle build. I ordered a Eliseo R5 target repeater chassis with the F class handguard, Borden's tube gun action (short), Jewell trigger with bottom safety, and a Bartlein HV 1 in 8" 31" blank. I was going to just do a Lapua 6mmBR but the BRDX intrigue's me with it's longer neck. All the one's I've read about use 9 or 10 twist barrels and shoot 80 to 95 grain bullets. I was wondering if anyone has chambered one to shoot the 105 to 108's. And if so, what were your reamer dimensions?

Anyway, I'm still in the planning stages but would welcome any and all comments.

Thanks, Jerry

Tom,

Thanks for your reamer dimensions. Could you also go over the steps you used to form the brass? The case looks like it would be easier to form than the BRX or Dasher. I don't have any experience with those that is why I'm looking for info. The only reason that I got the 31" blank was I found a place that had it in stock so I wouldn't have a long wait.

Thanks, Jerry

Thanks Tom, that is some good info. I'm sure that I'm going to have more questions as I get into this project, but so far the BRDX looks promising.

Thanks again, Jerry

Thanks Tom I'm considering ordering a set of Whidden dies specifically for the DX but it will probably be 5 to 6 months before I get all the components to build the rifle. I just ordered the chassis and action this week but should have the barrel blank and trigger this next week. So I guess that I have plenty of time to research this forum for more info with people that have experience with this case such as yourself. I hope that a few other shooters chime in with their experience with the DX.

Thanks again, Jerry

I guess that I will have to have my smith check his reamer specs especially the web dimensions. Thanks Tom.

Jerry
