6mm BRDX 107 SMK

I have a new Krieger .236 8 twist 28 inch HV barrel coming very soon to switch out on my 6.5x47 for 300 and 600 yard shooting mostly but some 800 thrown in also,,

would you recommend a lighter 80 ish gr bullet for 300 and the heavier 105-107 for 600-800 or will the heavies shoot well enough at 300 to shoot them from 300-800,,

some locals have me hooked on shooting 300 yard egg size targets for kicks,,

I almost went Dasher but the longer neck on the BRDX looks like it would handle different weight bullets better so I guess I will be trying several different bullets unless the 107`s just flat out drive nails at all three ranges,,

any BRDX favorite loads would be helpfull,,I have several different powders and primers and the local store has just about everything on the shelf,,

I really like tinkering around with a new to me caliber,,

Boy are you gonna have some fun!The 6mm improved cases are easy to tune. You will find many combos that shoot well.Varget is a good powder to start with but not the only one if you get stuck. As far as bullets heck shoot em all.

Don't know what you consider drive nails, my 6BR is a 12# field gun and it holds its own in ground hog matches at 1,3 and 500. I only shoot one load using 107 SMK's and under good conditions it runs 3/4" on a good day to 1" @300.

My BRDX loves 105 Hybrid and 108 BT 107 SMK did not shoot worth a s%*t on my barrel I launch out a Brux .236 with a length of 29". I shoot anything from 100-600 just because I want to make my shooting less complicated by having a different load for a 95 SMK or some other lighter bullet. I have my own reams for chamber and dies and use newlon precision with Micrometer top. I have found that both bullets run the same powder charge at 32.2 slow and 32.8 fast. I run varget and N150 fed 205. I love my DX and find no need to go to a dasher my self but that's just my 2 cents.

I run 105 class bullets at all ranges. I'm getting one ragged hole at 300 yards. If all the holes touch at 300, I suspect there isn't a lot more to be wanted for egg sized targets.

this would be very good

im running 105gr berger hunting vlds from 100 to 500 meters from my 6BR , getting less than .5 inch at 200m and less than 2" groups at 500m and it will get better as i still havent fine tuned my load testing on it yet

JB uses 32 grains RL15 in his with the 106`s hes been shooting. I`d have that one way up the list to try.

The main difference is you don't need special dies to load the 6brx but you do for the 6brdx. You can use plain ol' 6br dies for the 6 brx.

You might be able to get away with using 6 BR dies for the BRX, but you are better off getting dies made for it.

my smith modded a Redding FL-S bushing Dasher size die for my BRDX chamber and plan to use the Redding Comp Mic Dasher seater die also,,
