6mm BR reamer question

For those that have smithed 6 BRs with 1-14, is the reamer different than one from say a 1-10 or 1-8? I borrowed a reamer to change to a standard neck & the throat length looks to be around .250 plus or minus which would seem to be too long for the light bullets. Thanks, Hog

Usually the reamers used for light weight bullets have a short throat, and the reamers for the heavy bullets has a longer throat..

As preacher said, and the reamer could be sent back to the maker to have the freebore dimension shortened. PTG does it for $25.

Good info, guys. I suspected they were different. Since it's a borrowed reamer, that'll preclude me from having it shortened. I'll have to chase down the shorter version. Thanks.

Spoke with PT&G & purchased a recommended Lapua blue box .055 freebore reamer for my 1-14 twist re-chamber job. The .250 I have is for an 8 or 8 1/4 twist.
