6mm BR die help

I'm building a no-turn neck 6mm br for playtime at the range and some pdog shooting. I'm looking for some input on a reloading die set-up that will fit my needs without breaking the bank.

I was leaning towards the Forster set and having the die opened up to fit my necks.

I've also read a lot about redding s-bushing neck sizing dies being used.

Not really looking to compete b/c I'm not building a full-blown BR rig. So what will give me the best bang for the buck?

I have a 6BR with .272 neck, Pac Nor Barrel on a Rem 700 Action in an HS Glass stock with an aluminum bedding block. Rifle and 6 to 20 Weaver Grand Slam weighs 10 1/2 pounds and is a beautiful carry around varmint rifle.

I bought a set of Wilson stainless steel sizing and seating dies that I use with a rawhide mallet. I use a .267 bushing on unturned Lapua bases. My gun shoots .3 and under consistently with 55 grain Sierra Blitzkings on top of 34 grains of Varget.
I have no regrets what so ever with these dies and would spend the $130 again if I needed new dies.

I'm using a Redding S full length die with the expander ball removed. I set the die so that it bumps the shoulder .001. I think that the full length S die gives some flexibility.

The expander ball just works your brass needlessly. The neck was already expanded enough when you fired it, so there's no need to expand it anymore.

The only time it would be useful is if you bent the neck dropping a case or if you have some soft necks and the overly aggressive ejector spring like I had in one of my 700s. However, I prefer to just run a K&M Expandiron in them just enough to bring them back to round.

Sorry about that. gunamonth has it dead right. Guess I was too distracted by some scope and base issues I'm wrestling with.

To correct what I said above: about the only time an expander ball would really be an issue is if you were trying to size smaller, more neck tension) than the expander ball would let you have. Can't say I ever had that problem, just somewhere along the line, I just started swapping them out. Most likely, so that I didn't have to think about it.
