I have found there is a lot of good information in the forum and the web page. However, I have been looking for a Hornady modified case and found them to be scarce as hens teeth. Found one to day at Graf, as I was contemplating making one. Since I don't have access to a drill press I was very relieved to find one. However, I want to take issue with the COAL listed which appears to be from the Berger Handbook. I have a Savage 12 F Class, based on my preliminary findings using lightly neck sized brass, I found my distance to the lands to be much shorter than the listed COAL. I know this question has been asked before and never really answered, however for is not so newbies it would be nice if we gave a little better info than check it your own barrel. Frankly I found a pretty good COAL today 2 thousands off the lands with a Berger 105. However using the same principles the Sierra Match King 107's which I measured separately didn't group so great. Jamming either bullet didn't work out well in my gun.
I finally got a good starting point, but the listed COAL in Berger is way too long. By the way it now shoots the Bergers lights out nice tight groups, I made the guy next to me very envious, he was shooting a 308.
