6mm barrel life

I have a 6.5x47 that I use as a tactical rifle. I would like a 6mm of some sort that I could swap the barrel out on and practice barracades and different positional stuff on and not wear out my match gun's barrel and expensive bullets. I can find some blemished or discontinued 105's for cheap and 2650 would be plenty fast enough. Could I expect 3k rounds out of a Br if I don't push it to the speed limit? What freebore would I need to seat a 105 halfway up the neck? Would another cartridge fit the bill better, just needs to take the same bolt face.

Couldn't you just build a 6 x 47 ? That way you can use old brass, cheap bullets, and if you slow it down to 6.5 speeds, it would prolly last a long time. All the feeding characteristics would be the same.

Plus one big bonus.... if it works as nice as I think, you may find that it just might be too nice a round, not to use in competition, especially if you speed it back up to match speeds.

good luck!
