I am loading for a bolt action 6mm ARC. I am using Alpha Brass. It has been Annealed, trimmed, Turned, and mandrel to .2430.
I have tried Hornady Match 108gr ELD Match # 24561 and Hornady 105gr BTHP Match # 2458
I was using Hornady load data for Bolt Guns. Varget 27.1 grains. It takes almost 200 lbs of force to seat the bullets.
My question is about the Alpha Brass I have not used it before. I am told its great brass. Could it be thicker than the Hornady brass which is I am sure what they used to develop their loads. This load shoots great but I really do not like using compressed loads.
I loaded up 5 rounds using the AR load data and they seated at 65 lbs. which is kind of normal. I do use dry lube when I am seating the bullets.
Thank you for any help you can send my way.
