6mm ARC barrel life VS 22 ARC barrel life

6mm ARC apparently experiences a fairly long barrel life. Only stands to reason that a 22 ARC will experience a notably shorter barrel life. Care to share your thoughts?

Seems 22 ARC may be working with a few grains more boiler room & the obviously smaller bore diameter. How much will the barrel life suffer?

Think I am satisfied with the 6mm ARC personally.

At the rate Hornady produces brass for their flavor of the week knock offs of long standing popular cartridges, I’d say either one will last forever.

It’s been my experience that going from a 6 to a 22 yields about 40% less barrel life. So if your 6 ARC was going to have 2,000 rounds of .25 or better accuracy, the 22 caliber might get you to 1200.

Starline did a fairly good job of fixing the 6mm ARC Brass issue. Not looking to detract from your valid point though.

My 22BRs have gone 1600rnds of 1k BR competitive accuracy - 90SMK at 3050fps with 32gns of H4350. I imagine the 22 ARC will have a couple grains less capacity and longer life than that.

We have been shooting the 224 Grendel for the last 5 years in bolt guns. Witch is pretty much the 22 arc. The ARC has a little more free bore and that is it. We have been getting around 4000 rounds pare barrel and that's shooting it in PRS. We have shoot over 25000 rounds out 5 different rifles.

we have shot 50gr to 90gr bullets and have load data for them.
