6mm-284 Neck diameter

So, yesterday the boss,(wife) gave me the go-ahead on ordering a new barrel for my newest build. Have been looking at the 6mm-06 and the 6mm-284 for a long time and have decided to go with the 6mm-284,(just because). Problem right now is...I nailed it down to 2 vendors by reason of wait time. One has a sale going on but can only do .281 neck diameter. The other vendor can do either .270 or .281 neck. I have neck turning equipment so that's not a problem. My question is...Would I lose any accuracy in choosing the .281 over .270 neck? Then again I don't know if that is the correct question. Maybe, all things being even does the neck diameter have any bearing on accuracy.

First of all, who is it that you refer to as a vender? Gunsmith/Barrel maker???
Second the 6-284 no turn neck would be .270 to .272 depending on the new or old Lapua brass.
So the .270 would be best for the chamber reamer.

OP,,,my past experience with a 6mm/284 the brass WW and Lapua needed a min of .277 to be no turn,,,I think the previous poster has it confused with 6mmBR...I have done this before,,,!!!!.....but my advice costs just as much as his,,,,my best advice is go with a 6mm BR or Dasher,,,they are wayyyy more accurate and the bbl will last 3 or 4 times as long,,,Roger

Agree on the accuracy. Not really concerned about barrel wear. My last hot rod rifle was built over 2 years ago and I have less then 150 rounds through it! Actually I'm having this built for my move back to Wyoming or Nevada. Like to shoot PD but, I only take long shots. 25 shots are a fun time for me in a morning's worth of shooting.

My apologies nmkid, dug out some old 6-284 brass and .277 like others suggested is the way to go.
Forgot how thick .284 brass is at the neck (like .017-.018).

That's exactly why I built my 6-284. Long range PD. 105 gr pills at 3500 sure did the job. Barrel life is what it is.

Hart has done my 6-284s and he's used the .276 nk dia. which has worked well with either Lapua (gold box) .273 loaded dia or WW Super .2735 loaded dia. No turn on either brand.

Yup ...Just saying what Hart had chambered mine for and what the cases(necks) measured.
