6mm 284, long or short action?

Am currently building another bench gun. Went to academy and picked up a 243 ADL and 270 ADL, they are trying to get rid of all the ADL synthetics for $314 so picked one up of each.

Now, I am thinking about building a 6x284 but not sure if I need a long action to do that or short. I am tossing the idea of a 6.5x284 around but am kinda shying away from it since I just got done building a 260 AI,

just was wondering if a 6x284 will feed well from a short or need a long?

thanks

I have built my 6/284 up as a single shot, so I have used a short action. Mine is built up on what was originally a Ruger 77V that started life as a .243 Winchester. I glued in a Score High follower to make it a single shot and all I am waiting on is the stock so that I can get it up and running for next year. If I had set it up as a repeater, I would have used a long action instead so that the longer bullets would have been able to clear the magazine properly.

Cordially,
Bob Blaine
