Thanks for telling me to visit Hodgdon.

I am a little confused. In some of the bullets weights for maximum loads the fastest bullet in 6x222 is faster than 6x223 yet is indicating lower pressure. This must be a mistake. On Hodgdon's site only the heavier bullets showed any advantage to the 6x223 but not by much.

These 2 cartridges look very even. I was expecting the 6x222 to be a bit shy of the 6x223 but it is not as far back as I thought it would be. 2742 fps with 85gr bullets and 2489 fps 100gr bullets.
The 60gr at 3172 fps and the 75gr at 2915 surprised me.

I have a 6x222 with a Lilja barrel on an old Remington action. Dennis Olsen put it together and I bought it from the original owner. I haven't chronoed any loads but it will flat shoot into the same hole with 23.0 grains blc-2 and 70 grain ballistic tips. Absolutely no recoil. It doesn't really serve a purpose in my stable but shoots to good to get rid of it.
