List: "Discovered" a single digit SD load which produced a tight round group at 265 yards. The SMK 107s Im using are only running an average velocity of 2785fps with a SD of 8.3 This is with WW cases/Russian primers/31.5gns of Varget.
I bumped the charge to 32.5gns and the velocity went to 2855 with a SD of 8.6 and the group began to open. At 33gn the velocity was 2891 and the SD jumped to 14.0. The group was awful.
I tried AA4350...awful. SD in the 18-20 range.
My question is....Should I be "content" with this velocity?
The SD and group size...at least at 265 yds is great...but the velocity seems low. I was hoping Ild get something in the 3000fps area which is what the AA4350 was producing but the results with that powder were disappointlng.
Ideas please?
