I was hoping to get some feedback on Seirra 107 MK if someone has used them on wild hogs and how did they perform ?? Thanks! Mark

Guess I'll jump in...

People reqularly ask similar questions and invaribly the battle ensues. I don't say this to be offensive, just letting you know.

Will target bullets kill animals? Yes. Are target bullets the best choice? No.

Let the battle begin!

I shot the 80gr SMK on antelope. (.224) and they worked flawlessly. Both animals were one shot kills, bullets exited goat didn't go more than ten steps.

I would use them, however use them with caution. Broadside shots only imo.

Everyone get's advice...........only the wise profit from it!

Target bullets for targets! Yes, a lot of people use them for hunting, but what
does the mfg say? Listen to the people who make them. You owe it to
the animal you shoot!

the Match King bullet will probably disintegrate before it's even 2" deep in the hog and it will run away with a bad wound...

use game king bullets instead.

Not 107 but 6.5 140 MK 2750 fps 3 shots on same hog at 525, 489, 475 yards broadside. Covered all 3 with the palm of my hand. Tight behind shoulder. All 3 exited, no expansion on any. Required kill shot when we walked up on him. No more MK on game for me.

I am planning on useing them for a coyote bullet in the 6-284 and the 6mm - 300 WSM but would not use them on a hog. I have used the 80 gr SMK in a 224 TTH and they leave great big holes in coyotes., so on hogs my guess would be you`ll get a big ugly intrance hole with no depth on a hog.

I have intentions on using the 107 SMK for groundhogs but, after a modification of the hollow point for rapid expansion! Hopefully I will need a rake to gather the pieces up ;)
